As one of the maritime industry’s most important global gatherings, Posidonia 2026 once again provided an excellent opportunity for industry professionals to reconnect, exchange views, and discuss the developments shaping the future of shipping.
Within this framework, CIMAC, in cooperation with the Hellenic National Member Association (NMA), organised a successful Circle Event that brought together leading experts and industry stakeholders for an open and insightful discussion on the challenges currently facing the maritime sector.
The event featured a distinguished panel of speakers, including keynote speaker Christoph Rofka of Accelleron, alongside Fotis Belexis of Star Bulk, Kaj Portin of Wärtsilä, Christian Ludwig of Everllence, and Ichiro Tanaka of MITSUI E&S. Their diverse perspectives and expertise contributed to a highly engaging and thought-provoking exchange of ideas.
Special appreciation is extended to Kathrin Lau for expertly moderating the discussion and facilitating a dynamic dialogue among participants. CIMAC also expresses its gratitude to the event sponsors for their valuable support in making the gathering possible.
The discussions focused on several of the most pressing issues currently impacting the global shipping industry. Topics included evolving trade disruptions, geopolitical uncertainty, the pathway towards decarbonisation, and the growing role of digitalisation in maritime operations. Participants shared their experiences and views on how the industry can navigate these challenges while maintaining competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability.
As shipping continues to undergo a period of significant transformation, forums such as the CIMAC Circle Event play an increasingly important role. By bringing together different perspectives from across the maritime value chain, CIMAC continues to provide a unique platform for open dialogue, knowledge sharing, and constructive debate.
The success of the event reaffirmed the value of collaboration and communication as the industry works collectively to address the opportunities and challenges of the years ahead.
